About the Role

We are looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will drive the research, prototyping, and integration of cutting-edge AI and LLM technologies into our platform and internal tooling. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate engineer who thrives on working with emerging technologies while building robust data infrastructure. You'll have the chance to shape how AI transforms our platform while ensuring data excellence drives our business intelligence capabilities.

You'll be responsible for:

AI/LLM Integration & Experimentation

• Research and evaluate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OSS models)
• Design systems that combine multiple AI services (e.g., RAG, agentic flows)
• Build working prototypes to validate new product and internal tooling concepts

Productized AI Features

• Develop production-ready LLM applications that enhance company internal use cases
• Optimize AI components for cost, latency, and accuracy

Data Engineering & Infrastructure

• Build and maintain ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Work with cloud data warehouses and BI systems
• Ensure high-quality, accessible datasets for DS and AI use

Collaboration & Innovation

• Partner with product and design teams to identify AI opportunities
• Drive technical feasibility assessments for new AI features
• Support knowledge sharing across the org as AI capabilities evolve

Some of the technologies you will be working with include Node.js (TypeScript), Python, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, various AI/LLM APIs, ELT tools like dbt or Airflow, Docker, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

• Development Experience: 4+ years of relevant backend development experience with strong programming skills in Python and/or Node.js (TypeScript).
• AI/LLM Integration: Hands-on experience working with AI/ML APIs, LLM integration, or building AI-powered applications. Experience with frameworks like LangChain, vector databases, or embedding systems is highly valued.
• Data Engineering: Solid experience with ELT/ETL pipelines, data warehousing concepts, and working with large datasets. Familiarity with tools like dbt, Airflow, or similar orchestration platforms.
• Database Expertise: Strong understanding of SQL, database design principles, and experience with both relational (PostgreSQL) and analytical databases (ClickHouse, BigQuery, or similar).
• API Development: Experience building and integrating with RESTful APIs and handling real-time data processing.
• Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD practices.
• Innovation & Problem Solving: Proven track record solving complex technical challenges and experimenting with new paradigms.
• Communication: Fluency in English and Russian, with strong collaboration skills for working in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Marketing Technology: Experience in advertising technology, marketing automation, or CRM integration use cases would simplify onboarding.
• Advanced AI/ML: Knowledge of machine learning concepts, model fine-tuning, or experience with open-source AI frameworks.
• Business Intelligence: Experience with BI tools like Superset, Tableau, PowerBI, or building custom analytics dashboards.
• Frontend Skills: Some experience with React or other frontend frameworks for building data visualization interfaces.
• Privacy & Compliance: Understanding of data privacy concepts, GDPR compliance, and security best practices in data handling.
• Real-time Processing: Experience with streaming data processing using technologies like Kafka or similar event-driven architectures.
